Healthy Lifestyle Programme
On the 6th and 7th of September, guest speakers came in to talk to our Transition Year. Their names were Jeffery Allen and Agatha Hidelo. They told us about the importance of fitness and nutrition. Jeffery told us about his career in the military and how he became part of the special forces. He told us how we should interpret life and how we need to gain a new perspective. He told us there is no such thing as failure and he showed us 'the table of success' that he believes works for everyone. He also said he had a bad stutter and is dyslexic. He now has his own business and can go around to schools and talk in front of a large group without stuttering. He believes anything is possible if you believe in yourself and that there is nothing holding you back.
Agatha spoke about how sugar is destroying peoples health and how its the biggest cause of health related problems. She said that people should only have 6 teaspoons of sugar but people are having up to 25 teaspoons. She informed us of the health problems that comes with this like strokes, obesity and diabetes.
Jeffery had many games planned out for us, we learned how to work as a team and we did many running games to improve our fitness. overall, i feel this was of great benefit to me, it gave me the impression that people are capable of doing anything they want. i feel the talk inspired me to achieve my aims and objections
